AquaDams® are a simple combination of
three tubes that are filled with water. This makes them ideal for a wide variety of aquatic applications. Some of the more common uses include:
The standard AquaDam® system is filled from one end only via the two inner tubes, which are longer than the rest of the dam. The extra length is required for coupling (attaching) one AquaDam® to another. The closed end is fitted with a collar that allows two AquaDams® to be linked together. Utilizing the coupling collars allows the AquaDams® to be attached end to end to meet the individual needs of the job site. An open-ended AquaDam® system can be filled or emptied from either end. This system is appropriate when placing a single AquaDam® entirely across a riverbed or canal where both ends can be extended up the bank. The ends elevation up the bank keeps the water from flowing out the open ends of the tubes. No fittings are necessary. Water-filled cofferdams are held in place by gravity. As long as the fill tube ends are higher than the AquaDam®, the water that creates the inside pressure will not be able to escape. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
