To install an AquaDam®, all that is generally required is the abundant local water and a portable pump. This means that AquaDams® are ideal for water control projects such as stream diversions, temporary stream dams, lake bed de-watering, coffer damming, pollution confinement and silt control. They also provide timely and effective solutions to tough situations like mud slides, hazardous waste control and flooding.

     The Concept
Amazingly simple, AquaDams® are a patented idea that combines three or more polyethylene or woven geo-textile tubes together and any locally available water supply. Two inner tubes, contained by an outer "master" tube, are pumped full of water simultaneously. Counter friction between the master and inner tubes results in a stable, non-rolling ‘wall’ of contained water, which conforms to the stream bed as the AquaDam® is deployed. Within minutes an impervious, solid wall of water, called an AquaDam®, is formed.

     The Design
AquaDams® are environmentally safe and are specifically engineered to provide rapid deployment in all conceivable locations. It is a stable barrier of contained water to cofferdam, divert and control the flow of water.

The unique patented design consists of three basic components and water:

A + B: Multiple impermeable inner tubes which are filled with water to provide the mass and weight needed for stability.

C: A strong, woven outer tube that contains the two inner tubes which when filled form columns of water that are held side by side, providing the structural integrity of the AquaDam®.

All the materials used to construct AquaDams® are flexible to allow them to conform to uneven terrain and this makes for an effective seal between the ground and the AquaDam®. Two or more AquaDams® can be joined together with a coupling collar manufactured from the same material as the outer tube to form a continuous solid wall of water.
