Lake Sediment Removal in
Woodlawn Lake, San Antonio, TX

Part 1, Page 9:

The AquaDams have moved completely out of alignment, and are now free-floating in the overflowing lake. The water level in this picture is about 1' higher than the overflow dam. The lake's boat dock is actually in the foreground of this picture, but it cannot be seen as it is submerged underwater. The beauty of the AquaDams is that even though they failed due to high water, no earthen fill materials were deposited on the lakebed. Some of these AquaDams were reused.

This is the overflow dam that creates the lake. Water is spilling over it's top, and it's volume increased dramatically immediately following the rainstorm. The discharge pumps could not possibly maintain the lake level, and because of this, many of the AquaDams washed over the dam and were severely damaged. This was bad luck for the project, but this is what happens when you work in the water during the rainy season.
