The first AquaDam® was started up the bank at a point 4' higher
than the stream bed to be crossed. Discharge hoses were inserted
into the fill tubes, making sure that they extended past the black
master tube, the start of the AquaDam®. The clear
fill tubes are for coupling this AquaDam® to the closed end of another.
A head of water inside the AquaDam®, higher than that of the water pooling
on the upstream side, must be maintained or the water will force the AquaDam®
downstream. The water on the downstream side is dropping, creating a water
head differential from one side of the AquaDam® to the other. This water
pressure difference must be overcome throughout the installation process.
