Now the AquaDam® must make another turn. Some of the AquaDam® is
unrolled to reduce pressure, the inside is held firmly in place,
and the outside end is turned. The rock-picker removes rocks as
fast as he can.
The turn has been completed, and the workers must hold the AquaDam®
back to build up pressure once more. Please note how much the flow
rate has increased on the right side of the riffle, and the now-exposed
rocks on the left.
The AquaDam® is fully installed. The stream flow has been restricted to
one side, creating deeper, cooler water for fish passage. This is immediate
aquatic habitat creation, useful to migrating salmon, and there are no
long-term ecological side effects.
