Ropes stop the AquaDam® from rolling out prematurely.  A water head, which is higher than the surrounding river water, needs to be maintained inside the AquaDam®. This allows you to maintain control during the installation.

The AquaDam® is being let out slowly using the ropes. Again, the idea is to let it out in a controlled manner, no faster than the pumps will allow. It takes 60,000 gallons of water to fill an AquaDam® of this size.

Don't get in a hurry, let the pumps do the work for you! Here the excavator is on standby to assist with rock removal.
