Boat Ramp Repair Tennessee River, Chattanooga, TN (2003)
The 5' high x 50' long backup AquaDam® is pulled up the ramp and onto the parking lot
(which has a slight grade to it) allowing all of the water to drain out.
The end of the 8' high x 250' long AquaDam® is lifted off of the berm by the yacht lift.
This causes more water to drain out of the open end. The water
did not run out while it was a cofferdam because both ends were extended up the bank
higher than the water inside.
The yacht lift pulls the rolled-up end of the AquaDam® out from between the piers
and sets it at the end of the gangway. The boat can still be used to pull the
AquaDam® further out and away from the boat ramp.
The boat needs to pull all of the slack out and line the AquaDam® up straight
with the boat ramp. There is still over 150,000 gallons of water inside the
AquaDam®. These water molecules are easy to maneuver because they are buoyant.
