While the ski boat had plenty of horsepower, the prop was too small to give it any pulling power. It simply slewed back and forth in the water, without budging the fill tubes. A second, smaller boat was then used to push against the first boat at an angle, allowing it to pull the AquaDam® in a straight line.

A layer of protective woven material is laid down over the new concrete boat ramp to prevent injury to the AquaDams® as they are dragged out for draining and rerolling.

The 12' AquaDam® has to be pulled out in a straight line. It has to be pulled far enough forward so that the end will pull out past the piers and it has to be positioned so that it will pull straight up the boat ramp. Since both ends of the AquaDam® are open, water can drain from either end.

A forklift lifts and pulls a rope that is placed around the closed end of the AquaDam®, and it is carefully pulled from the water. The tubes are actually pulled off of the water molecules, leaving them in the Tennessee River where they belong.
