| Before diversion begins, a proper site must be selected. Fill material excavated from the canal earlier made perfect banks to start the AquaDams® on. |

| The contractor was required to line the sides and bottom of the diversion channel to prevent erosion. This is the upstream AquaDam®, and it is 4' high by 50' long. |

| The protective cover and ropes are removed. Then the open end is placed higher up the bank than the estimated height of the AquaDam® will be. Workers need to be careful not to let the current carry the AquaDam® downstream. |
