The AquaDam® is first positioned well up the bank, and then tied off to a conveniently located tree. Two workers stand behind the AquaDam® to build internal head pressure as it fills. When the pressure becomes great enough, they will take a careful step back, allowing the AquaDam® to unroll approximately 2 feet.

Two of the workers were equipped with full diving gear so that they could easily remove any underwater rocks or debris. This will prevent damage to the AquaDam® and will greatly reduce leakage. Whenever enough head pressure builds inside the AquaDam®, the workers take another step back.

In order to turn the AquaDam®, head pressure must be released, so the pumps are turned off. The workers on the outside edge of the AquaDam® move back while the worker on the inside (in red) holds his position, allowing the AquaDam® to bend around him.

Once the turn is completed, the pumps can be started and the AquaDam® is allowed to continue to unroll, while the workers continue to maintain the inside head pressure.
