This was the metal collar that held the tidal flood gate in proper position around the end of the culvert. The rancher was hoping to reuse this, however it looks doubtful. A new gate will have to be manufactured to fit the end of the culvert on the Pacific Ocean side of the levee.

This section of old collar was removed after being stuck in the mud for the past 50 years.
