Haz-Mat: Chemical Spill Clean-up Columbia River, OR (2000)

Plans called for several sandbag cofferdams to cross the stream course of Fifteen
Mile Creek. These were deemed too small to be effective, so an AquaDam® was placed
directly in front of the sandbag cofferdam.
The AquaDam® was placed directly in front of the sandbags shown in the last picture.
Notice the size compared to the original sandbag wall. The water and stream channel
sediment were saturated with contaminants. All aquatic life in the affected regions
had been killed.
The contaminated onsite water was used to inflate the 5' x 100' AquaDam®. Installation
time was an hour and a half once the pumps were started. Notice the worker laying on the
AquaDam®. This is your typical hardworking installation crewman.
