This was a haz-mat cleanup job for an herbicide spill on the Columbia River. The cleanup involved the DOT, DEQ, the Fish and Wildlife services from both Oregon and Washington, as well as the EPA and the prime contractor for the cleanup, Foss Environmental Services.

A 12' x 100' AquaDam® was being prepared to be lowered into Fifteen Mile Creek Canyon at the Dalles, OR. The Dalles Hydroelectric Plant on the Columbia River is in the background.

The AquaDam® was lowered into position using a crane at the confluence of Fifteen Mile Creek and the Columbia River to prevent further contamination of the river. Time was of the essence because the power plant had to reduce operations until the AquaDam® was installed.
